A. Employees that violate any provision in Article VI or VII of this chapter may be subject to progressive discipline and/or adverse employment action.

B. Depending on the nature of the circumstances of an incident, employee discipline should normally be progressive and should bear a reasonable relationship to the violation.

C. Based on the severity of the employee conduct, progressive discipline may not be applicable or warranted.

D. Progressive discipline includes:

1. Verbal warning;

2. Written warning;

3. Suspension with or without pay; or

4. Termination.

E. Adverse employment actions include:

1. Demotion or reassignment;

2. Suspension with or without pay; or

3. Termination.

F. At the conclusion of the employee discipline process, if the process results in an adverse action, the Human Resources Department, the Executive Director of Administration or the Chairperson shall issue a written administrative decision and provide a copy to the parties involved.
