Judges may participate in civic and charitable activities that do not reflect adversely upon their impartiality or interfere with the performance of their judicial duties. Judges may serve as officers, directors, trustees, or nonlegal advisors of a bona fide educational, religious, charitable, fraternal, or civic organization, whether tribal or otherwise; provided, that judges do not participate if it is likely that the organization will be involved in proceedings which would ordinarily come before them or would be involved in adversarial proceedings in the Courts.
