A. The Enrollment Committee will review the application file upon completion of processing in accordance with Section 2-301(E) and make an initial determination on eligibility. The Enrollment Committee will certify a notice of eligibility for membership and will publish such notice in the Tribe’s newsletter and on the Tribe’s website to the extent practicable. Upon publication of the notice in the newsletter or on the Tribe’s website or upon a mailing of the notice to tribal members, a thirty (30) day notice period begins.

B. The notice of eligibility for membership must include the applicant’s name, date of birth, distributee from which the applicant descends, and parent. Pursuant to California and other states’ laws, names of parents will be neither published nor released in the case of adoption.

C. Any member of the Tribe may file an objection to the proposed membership of any applicant with the Enrollment Committee during the thirty (30) day notice period. Any objection should be made in writing and should be based on personal knowledge of an applicant’s ineligibility for membership.

D. Approval of Membership.

1. All rights, privileges and benefits of membership will take effect after the thirty (30) day notice period if no appeal is filed with the Enrollment Committee regarding the proposed membership.

2. The Enrollment Committee shall monitor the notice period and upon the conclusion of the notice period shall provide timely formal written notice to the new member of his or her status. (Res. 2019-47; Res. 2014-31; Res. 2013-16; Res. 2012-33)
