A. Members of the Traditional Court shall be selected and appointed by the Tribal Council and must agree in writing and by oath to serve under the authority of the Tribal Court.

B. The Tribal Council shall require that applicants for the Traditional Court submit a letter of application.

C. The Tribal Council shall make tentative selections for the Traditional Court and conduct a felony background check on those tentative selections prior to officially appointing the individual to the Traditional Court.

D. The Traditional Court shall select one (1) member from amongst its membership to serve as Spokesperson of the Traditional Court.

E. Members of the Traditional Court will be compensated on a per diem basis, as established in the Tribal Courts’ budget approved by Tribal Council. (Res. 2021-43; Res. 2020-76; Res. 2019-08)
