A party may file a motion requesting the judge to be disqualified from presiding over the party’s pending case because of an actual or apparent conflict of interest. The motion will be treated as any other motion in a case, except that it will be reviewed by a different judge to determine whether it is more likely than not that a conflict of interest exists and the judge should be disqualified from the case. The decision may be made with or without a hearing in the reviewing judge’s discretion. (Res. 2021-43; Res. 2020-59; Res. 2020-42 Exh. A)
