Court behavior addresses how persons must conduct themselves when at the Court. Generally, the Court requires all persons in the Court to show respect to the Wilton Rancheria by being respectful of each other and Court personnel.

A. Cell phones must be silenced while court is in session. Parties may not look at or use their cell phones except when approved by the presiding judge.

B. Parties may use computers and tablets for their hearings.

C. All persons appearing in the Court shall be on time for their scheduled hearing and prepared to speak with the judge about their case.

D. All persons appearing in the Court shall treat each other respectfully so Court matters can be conducted in an orderly fashion.

E. Parties should address the Court, rather than talking to each other.

F. All persons appearing before the Court must dress appropriately. Hats and sunglasses should be removed while inside the courtroom, except when the presiding judge allows the item to remain on for religious or medical reasons. No torn clothing or clothing containing offensive or violent logos, images or wording will be allowed.

G. Parties shall conduct themselves in a respectable manner consistent with doing the business of the Court. Chewing gum, profanity, arguing with the Court or parties after a ruling, bullying, insults or threats, are all examples of inappropriate behavior.

H. If certain behavior is not allowed in front of a judge, then it is also not allowed while engaging with Court personnel or Court patrons. While on Court premises, communicating by phone, or communicating by video, all persons shall avoid disrespectful or threatening behavior towards each other and towards Court personnel.
