Throughout this chapter the following words have the following definitions:

“Applicant” means a person whose name will be added, if determined to be eligible, to the membership roll.

“DNA” means the acronym for deoxyribonucleic acid, which is that nucleic acid that carries the genetic information in the cell and is capable of self-replication and synthesis of ribonucleic acid “RNA.”

“Enrollment Officer” means that person who is the head of the Office of Enrollment delegated to administer the membership roll in accordance with the Constitution, this code, and other applicable laws of the Tribe. The Enrollment Officer (1) shall be a member of the Tribe; (2) shall be at least twenty-five (25) years of age; and (3) shall not have been convicted of a felony.

“Member” means any person listed on the official membership roll of Wilton Rancheria.

“Membership roll” means the official record of each and every duly enrolled member of the Tribe, which includes legal name, membership number, and date of birth, as created by Article III, Section 3 of the Constitution.

“Sponsor” means a parent of a person under the age of eighteen (18) or legal guardian of a person and is thus authorized under this chapter to file an application for membership or appeal on behalf of a person who is a minor, legally incompetent, or otherwise lacks the capacity to file an application for membership.

“Technical correction” means a correction made by the Enrollment Officer to the membership roll that does not affect a member’s eligibility for membership. (Res. 2019-47; Res. 2014-31; Res. 2013-16; Res. 2012-33)
