A. The Chairperson shall have fourteen (14) days after the effective date of a resolution approved by two-thirds (⅔) of the Tribal Council or a petition signed by a majority of the eligible voters of the Tribe requesting the removal of an official to plan for and provide notice to eligible voters of a special meeting regarding the removal. A special meeting regarding removal of an official shall be called for a future date no more than sixty (60) days from the effective date of the Tribal Council resolution or after the delivery of a petition.

B. The Chairperson shall provide at least thirty (30) days’ notice to the General Council of a special meeting regarding removal. Such meeting notice shall include the specific date, time, and location of the meeting. The Chairperson shall include a copy of the Tribal Council resolution calling for removal or a statement of the petition’s charges with each notice sent to the General Council.

C. In the event that the Chairperson fails to plan for and provide notice of a special meeting regarding the removal of an official within fourteen (14) days after the effective date of a resolution approved by two-thirds (⅔) of the Tribal Council or a petition signed by a majority of the adult members of the Tribe, the Tribal Council shall plan for and provide notice of the special meeting regarding removal within fourteen (14) days after such violation of the law is known by the Tribal Council. Staff of the Tribal Office shall work with the Tribal Council to plan for and provide notice of the special meeting regarding removal.

D. The notice shall include the date, time and location for the hearing of the official facing removal. The date of the hearing shall be at least fourteen (14) days prior to the special meeting.
