Article IV. Special Meetings for Amendments to the Constitution

A. A request for a special meeting to amend the Constitution may be made by:

1. The presentation of a resolution approved by two-thirds (⅔) of the Tribal Council;

2. An approved motion of the General Council at an annual or special meeting; or

3. The Chairperson’s receipt of a petition requesting specific amendments to the Constitution signed by thirty percent (30%) of the eligible voters of the Tribe.

B. The Chairperson shall have thirty (30) days after receipt of a request for a special meeting to amend the Constitution to provide notice to members of the General Council of a special meeting regarding proposed amendments to the Constitution. (Res. 2022-13 (Exh. A); Res. 2013-61; Res. 2012-17)
