This chapter is enacted to establish and organize the Wilton Rancheria Department of Indian Child Welfare. It is the further purpose of this chapter to secure for each of the Tribe’s children such care, guidance, and control as will serve the child’s welfare and advance the interests of the Tribe; to preserve and strengthen family ties whenever possible; and to preserve and strengthen the child’s cultural and tribal identity wherever possible.
