The mission of Department of Indian Child Welfare shall be to protect the Tribe’s children and families by implementing this chapter. The Department of Indian Child Welfare shall work with families in a way that (A) is characteristic of the Tribe’s inherent cultural traditions, customs, and values and (B) addresses the well-being and protection of the Tribe’s children and families.
