A. Anyone engaging in conduct that defies the authority or dignity of the Tribal Court or interferes with the administration of justice or violates the Court rules may be found to be in contempt of court. Contemptuous conduct includes but is not limited to: perjury, disorderly or abusive behavior towards the judge or Court employees, disobedience of a Court order or summons, disobedience of the Court rules including rules governing courtroom conduct and dress.

B. If contempt is committed in the presence of the judge in open court the judge may issue sanctions immediately.

C. If contempt is committed outside the Court, the Court or party seeking the contempt finding will file a motion for contempt proceeding pursuant to these rules governing motions.

D. If the Court finds a person in contempt the Tribal Court may impose any appropriate sanctions including: a verbal or written warning, exclusion from the Court, a fine, community service or any other sanction available to the Court. (Res. 2021-43; Res. 2020-59; Res. 2020-42 Exh. A)
