§ 4-303 Spokesperson’s role at conference.
The Spokesperson shall facilitate the Traditional Court conference and maintain order throughout the conference. The Spokesperson:
A. Opens the conference and may include a prayer or special comments;
B. Administers to the parties the oath of confidentiality and fairness written in this chapter;
C. Outlines the rules and the process of the conference;
D. Explains the general process of the conference, introductions, discussion about the situation and the Traditional Court’s role in finding a solution;
E. States what the issue is that the conference will be hearing;
F. May use a basket or other item of cultural significance to ensure participants have the opportunity to speak;
G. Summarizes the highlights of what has been said after each round of discussion and clarifies if there has been any agreement or not; and
H. Prepares the final written consensus of the Traditional Court, and confirms it is an accurate summary of the Traditional Court’s opinions and recommendations. (Res. 2022-24 (Exh. A))
