§ 4-204 Notice of election.
A. General Election.
1. The Election Commission shall facilitate posting an official notice of election at all tribal offices and facilities and on the Tribe’s website, and sending the notice through the tribal email list and by mail via USPS at least ninety (90) calendar days before an election.
2. The official notice of election shall include the following information:
a. Date of election.
b. Information on obtaining an official declaration of candidacy form.
c. Candidate filing deadline.
d. A listing of the seats available and term limits.
e. Instructions and deadline for requesting an accommodation ballot.
f. Instructions and deadline for requesting an absentee ballot.
g. Other important information as determined by the Election Commission.
B. Runoff or Special Election.
1. The Election Commission shall facilitate posting an official notice of special election or runoff election at all tribal offices and facilities and on the Tribe’s website, and sending the notice through the tribal email list and by mail via USPS as soon as possible before an election.
2. The official notice of election shall include the following information:
a. Date and time of election.
b. Information on candidates.
c. Candidate filing deadline, if applicable.
d. Instructions and deadline for requesting an accommodation ballot.
e. Instructions and deadline for requesting an absentee ballot.
f. Other important information as determined by the Election Commission.
C. Amendment Election.
1. The Election Commission shall facilitate posting an official notice of amendment election at all tribal offices and facilities and on the Tribe’s website, and sending the notice through the tribal email list and by mail via USPS at least thirty (30) calendar days before the election.
2. The official notice of amendment election shall include the following information:
a. Date of election.
b. The proposed amendment to the Constitution.
c. Instructions and deadline for requesting an accommodation ballot.
d. Instructions and deadline for requesting an absentee ballot.
